SPATIAL VARIATION IN THE PRODUCTION OF MEDICAL AND AROMATIC CROPS IN BAGHDAD PROVINCE AGRICULTURAL SEASON (2020-2019) FIELD STUDY
Medicinal and aromatic plants are crops that have a great economic position in agriculture and industry today because they are an important and fundamental source in the pharmaceutical, perfume, cosmetic and soap industry, because the materials extracted from them are effective and safe in treatment, food industries and others, which has led to increased demand for the cultivation and production of these crops and at the level of Iraq.
The study derived its data from the field reality (questionnaire form) because of the lack of official data covering the issue of the area and production of medical and aromatic crops in the productive provinces of Baghdad (Al-Risafa, Al-Adhamiya, Al-Madain, Kadhimiya, Tarmiya, Abu Ghraib, Mahmudiya) and the agricultural season (2019-2020).
The study was carried out in accordance with the literature of geographical scientific research, from the presentation of the theoretical framework and the analysis of tables to reach the causes of spatial and temporal variation of space and the amount of production, and methods of descriptive and inference quantitative analysis were adopted to detect and interpret the spatial relationships of phenomena using logarithmic transformation technique, and method (simple linear regression).
The study also included many tables, shapes and maps, and came up with a set of conclusions and proposals.
