Abstract
THE ASESMENT OF SOME CLASSİCAL POETRY COMMENTARİES BASED ON UMBERTO ECO’S “INTERPRETATİON AND OVERINTERPRETATİON”
The issue of poetry commentary style (modern or classical) an increasingly fierce debate nowadays. Supporters of both methods have assertions and proofs that can be accepted according to their own point of view. However, it’s not important what method is being used, it is open that the “comment” is real matter of commentaries. It has been discussed in various ways by the contemporary text scientist Umberto Eco Whether the interpretation is limited or not, and if it is limited, what’s the limits of beginning and end. In our study, Eco's views were not considered as a "commentary" method problem but as a "comment" issue. With regards to these views, it is stated that our traditional commentaries may contain “unlimited and partly irregular” interpretations. It’s been asserted that it may be the most important factor in the emergence of that “unlimited and partly irregular” commentary style, in fact classical commentary texts are mostly sufistic texts.
