Abstract

BIOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF STUDIES ON VOTER BEHAVIOUR: RESEARCH WITH VOSviewer
In contemporary democracies, elections and voter behaviour play a crucial role in shaping the course of governance. Understanding why voters make certain choices, the factors that influence their voting decisions and how these behaviours evolve over time is of great importance for political actors, policy makers, academics and society in general. In this context, this study conducts a bibliometric analysis of the studies on voter behaviour. VOSviewer2 software was used in the study and studies on voter behaviour were included in the Web of Science database between 2006-2023. The results of the analysis show that countries such as the USA, the UK and Germany are the leaders of the field. In addition, the keywords "voting behaviour", "election" and "vote" have come to the fore among the most frequently used terms in publications on voter behaviour. In addition, the most cited authors in the field of voter behaviour are James H. Fowler, Alan S. Gerber and Sara Hobolt. In terms of work production, it has been determined that authors such as Andre Blais, Costas Panagopoulos and David Stadelmann are the authors who produce the most works.
