Abstract
KOZMOLOJİK ARGÜMAN VE YETER-SEBEP İLKESİNİN MAHİYETİ
The principle of sufficient reason is one of the fundamental parts of the cosmological argument. Both the cosmological argument and the principle of sufficient reason, with their different interpretations, have become the main topic at different times and started new discussions. This study is an evaluation on the relationship between the cosmological argument, which many philosophers consider as an a posteriori proof, and the principle of sufficient reason, which they consider as an a priori principle. This evaluation focuses on the ongoing discussions on the current interpretations of both issues. In this way, we examine the views put forward to strengthen the cosmological argument with the new interpretations of the principle of sufficient reason and the criticisms brought to these views. These views and objections put forward in the name of strengthening the argument are discussed within the limits of the effort to construct a ‘cosmological argument through weak principle of sufficient reason’. Thus, we discuss the nature of the principle of sufficient reason over its power to support the cosmological argument with current interpretations and the validity of the critiques.
