Abstract
CARTOGRAPHIC ANALYSIS OF THE PRODUCTION AND CULTIVATION OF THE ORANGE CROP IN NORTHERN BAGHDAD AND ITS SPATIAL RELATIONS 2019
The study (cartographic analysis for the production and cultivation of the orange
crop in northern Baghdad and its spatial relationships) aims to study the types of
fruit trees in the north of Baghdad Governorate, since these areas have an
agricultural impression and possess geographical components that qualify these
areas to be a fertile environment for the cultivation and production of fruit trees.
The success of any cultivation is based on natural and human geographical
components that guarantee the success of cultivating any type of such trees. The
study has been conducted to study these factors, and show the geographical
distribution of trees and building a geographical database depending on spaces and
geographic information systems and what such systems have the ability to collect
and store and analyze data and converting them into digital maps that indicate to
this automatic disparity and to attribute the number of trees to the quantities of
production and on the agricultural dunam level. The data are from relevant
departments and offices in order to find out the demographic variation in planting
and producing such types of trees since these areas become territory for producing
types of fruits and became the economic rank of Baghdad and to market the
surplus production to the southern governorates.
The study could have uncovered the spatial disparity in the light of
the human and natural factors of fruits trees / orange distribution
in north of Baghdad.
