Abstract
AN INVESTIGATION ON THE TOMBSTONE ARTICLES OF THE ADIYAMAN KARAPINAR CEMETERY
Adıyaman is one of the cities in Anatolia with an important Alevi population. Alevis, who have an important place in the cultural and social life of the Adıyaman region, have been living in the city center especially for the last half century. As a reflection of this, they buried their bodies in the city cemetery. Tombstones are the materials with the oldest texts and pictures reflecting people's feelings and thoughts. In the Karapınar Cemetery, which is a new cemetery, there are motifs and words that exist in other cemeteries in Anatolia. It is possible to follow a society's mourning thoughts, political thoughts and pains from these materials.Because the Alevi community in Adıyaman has been affected by the social and cultural events in the country. In this study, it will be tried to evaluate the words and symbols of poems, songs and lyrics on the stones in Adıyaman Karapınar Cemetery.
