Abstract


PROF. DR. MAHER YAQOUB MOUSA, A READİNG OF HİS CONTEMPORARY GEOGRAPHİC THOUGHT AND THE DİMENSİONS OF HİS GEOGRAPHİCAL PHİLOSOPHY
It is not easy to trace the ideas of geographical personalities whose works are characterized by depth and originality in terms of style, philosophy and crowding of ideas, and they are similar to each other in a coherent fabric from which a work of unique scientific value is formed that penetrates deep into geography and its twisted grooves. This would provoke us intellectually and cognitively to reconsider our research projects, and how to frame visions within the competing ideas of the researcher, to be a launching pad around which a group of propositions whose critical aspects are drawn up during writing the research to continue to correct the path during the work used for all the cognitive tools in order to achieve the research goal in a graceful scientific manner Especially since geography is a science with a literary style, and a literature with a scientific logic, and according to this equation, geographical research must be based, for any confronting geography and its diversities with specializations that seem to the ordinary person separate on their face, but they represent one integrated unit for both the natural and human sides, This makes geography a unique science that has its own peculiarity among the sciences. Hence, the aim of the study came to get to know an Iraqi scientist who is a shining sign in the history of contemporary geography with his efforts and distinctive contributions to the geography of cities. Professor Maher Yaqoub Musa is a great scholarly stature, as he is considered a pioneer of contemporary geography and a beacon that lit the way for his students who spread his knowledge in Iraq And the Arab world, and the importance of the study lies in shedding light on the philosophy of this great world, as the fields of his scientific books are numerous and varied, in an attempt to inform future generations of what was contained in these books of bright ideas and ideas to benefit from them.
