Abstract


CULTURAL TRANSFER IN COURSE BOOKS AS TEACHING TURKISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE: YEDİ İKLİM TEACHING TURKISH BUNDLE LEVEL C1 BOOK EXAMPLE
The Turks have found many great civilisations that effect many centuries. Thanks to the civilisations that they have built, they put a lot of remarkable works. When we examine the works as written and oral while oral one's date back to BC it is understood that the written works emerged in 7th century. This long historical process has helped both Turks and Turkish language to vary in an aspect of culture. This enrichment has affected primarily native language teaching and also teaching Turkish as a foreign language. Even though it has been claimed that the history of the teaching Turkish as a foreign language harkened back to the Sumerian era, The piece that was written in order to teach Turkish to Arabs is very important particularly because of been the first work aiming teaching Turkish as a foreign language. Language teaching is also a cultural transfer. It is because that one of the important aspects of culture transfer in language is effective in the language teaching process. Language is the most important protector and deliverer of the culture. Even though the teachers seem to be the ones who transfer the linguistic and the cultural information of the language, another effective instrument is the books that is prepared to teach language. For this reason, there have been many works published for teaching Turkish to foreigners in last years. The aim of the study in this sense foreign to the Turkish education prepared by the Yunus Emre Institute Yedi İklim Türkçe Öğretim bundle (C1) batches are listed in document analysis method of qualitative research methods to investigate that contribute to what extent the teaching culture to elements of Turkish culture. After listing, comparison was made with other studies. As a result, a total of 77 items were identified in the book Institute Yedi İklim Türkçe Öğretim bundle (C1) level.
