Abstract
MAZONA IS THE CAPITAL OF WEST BAYLIK IN THE OTTOMAN PERIOD FROM EMERGENCE TO THE DEMISE OF THE POLITICAL ROLE
The subject deals with the definition of one of the most important cities in the West of Algeria, which became known for a while as the capital of Islamic jurisprudence thanks to its school, which was the number one visited city for students in the Middle west and then became the capital of the West Baylik during the Ottoman era, but despite this scientific fame and then political one, the city did not receive the caring in the writings of historians and this research is an attempt to find its path from when it was mentioned the first time until it was disgarded with the end of the rule of the Ottomans on Algeria. The research focused on the political role of the city and not on the other roles, especially the scientific one. Which was represented by the jurisprudence school because it will require more space because it began before the political role and ended after
