Özet
Art and craftsmanship in ancient times, the Arabs used the two terms to describe all kinds of arts, such as calligraphy, decoration, poetry and prose. However, the current study, through which we seek to achieve this aesthetics in industries, decorative arts and Arabic calligraphy and then use it in contemporary decorative designs that collimates with urban and industrial development. In this study, we must prepare designs that collimates with this development and preserve the artistic heritage of Arabic decorative and written calligraphy that cannot be forgotten by generations. The study chapters were divided as follows: Chapter one: Theoretical side was concerned with the history of writing and Arabic calligraphy and their origins. Chapter Two: Specialized in defining Arabic calligraphy and its types, and the most used ones, including the Kufic calligraphy and the square Kufic calligraphy, which was used a lot in Islamic architecture, as the forms of this Kufic calligraphy varied in every country, but the original homeland of this calligraphy is Iraq and the city of Kofi. Chapter Three: It is the applied aspect that uses the square Kufic calligraphy in decorative designs that collimates with the current era while preserving the aesthetic form, rules and foundations of Arabic letters from an artistic point of view to prepare a new vision for the recipient, so that the decorative Islamic art does not disappear.
