Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, ortaokul 6.sınıf matematik dersi geometri öğrenme alanında gösterip yaptırma yönteminin öğrenci başarısına ve kalıcılığına etkisini araştırmaktır. Ön-test, son-test kontrol gruplu araştırma deseninin kullanıldığı deneysel araştırma, 2017-2018 eğitim-öğretim yılında Kırşehir ili merkez ilçesi Cacabey Ortaokulunda öğrenim gören 6.sınıf öğrencileri ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma 36 deney grubunda, 29 kontrol grubunda olmak üzere toplam 65, 6.sınıf öğrencisi ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın çalışma grupları uygulanan ön test ile seçilmiş, çalışmaya alınan sınıflar ratgele atama yöntemiyle deney ve kontrol grupları olarak belirlenmiştir. Dört haftalık deneysel işlemler süresince deney grubundaki öğrenciler konuları gösterip yaptırma yöntemi ile işlerken, kontrol grubundaki öğrenciler geleneksel yöntemle konuları işlemiştir. Deney grubu öğrencileri derslerin sonunda konu ile ilgili hazırlanan çalışma yapraklarını kullanmışlardır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen başarı testi kullanılmıştır. Başarı testi deneysel işlemler öncesi ön-test, deneysel işlemler sonrası son-test ve 3 ay sonra kalıcılık testi olarak iki çalışma grubuna uygulanmıştır. Toplanan nicel verilerin grup içi ve gruplar arası analizinde bağımlı ve bağımsız örneklem t testleri SPSS 17.00 istatistik programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma bulgularından elde edilen sonuçlara göre; gösterip yaptırma yönteminin geometri öğrenme alanında prizmalar ve ölçme ünitesinde öğrencilerin matematik başarısını artırmada ve kalıcılığında geleneksel öğretim yöntemine göre daha etkili olduğu görülmüştür.

Abstract
The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of demonstration method in geometry learning area of 6th grade mathematic course. The experimental research, using pre-test and post-test control group design, was conducted with the 6th grade students attending the Cacabey Secondary School in Kırşehir Province in the 2017-2018 academic years. The study was carried out with a total of 65 sixth grade students, 36 in experimental group and 29 in control group.The study groups were selected by the pre-test and the groups included in the study were randomly assigned as experimental and control groups. During four weeks of experimental process, students in experimental group are taught in demonstration method, and students in control groups are taught in traditional method. The experimental group students used the worksheets at the end of the lessons. In this study, achievement test developed by researcher is used as data collection tool. Achievement test is conducted to two study groups as pre-test before experimental process, as post-test after experimental process and as permanency test after three months.In-group and inter-group analysis of the quantitative data collected, dependent and independent sample t tests were analysed with SPSS 17.00 statistical program.According to the results of findings, it is concluded that the method of demonstrating is more effective than traditional method in success and permanency of the student in prisms and measurement unit of geometry learning area.
