Abstract

NEW OTHERS OF TURKEY: SYRIANS
Introduction: It has been understood that "Syrian Refugees" who come to Turkey since 2011 are a permanent population rather than temporary guests. These Refugees are in communication and interaction with the local people, institutions, not in the sterile space. These interactions can be the cause of conflicts and conflicts as well as help. This interaction leads the Refugees to take their place in Turkey as new "others". The Refugees are constructing themselves as "Syrians" despite having many variables for the other. Objective: To determine what the sociological dynamics of the Syrian Refugees' differentiating process have as a new alien and what kind of influence they have. Data source and method: It is a descriptive evaluation of the data obtained from field studies about the target mass of the research "Syrians". Findings: The results of the study of Syrian refugees showed that the "Syrians" as a new minority-ethnicity group in Turkey, which is very rich in terms of ethnicity at the end of the process of "otherization", which is built on the factors such as the socioeconomic level, sect, political tendencies of the local people it is added. Conclusion: If we consider the American "melting pot" theory from these findings, it is not possible to dissolve the asylum seekers similar to the Turkishization pot. First of all, local people are against such a melting. Protestant, Catholic, etc., just like in America, even if partial achievements are achieved. There are possibilities like Kurdish basket, Sunni and Alawi basket in Turkey. But they will always be called "Syrians".
