Abstract


THE ROLE OF DEPRESSION AND PARENTS AND FRIENDS ATTACHMENT IN PREDICTIVE OF SECONDARY STUDENTS’ HOPE SCORES
This study has been carried out to determine whether the hope scores of secondary students are predictive in terms of parents and friends attached with depression scores in the relational model.It has also examined whether the students' hope scores differed significantly in terms of gender. The study group of the study consist 137 middle school students in total of 81 girls and 56 boys from five, six, seventh and eighth grades in the Karatay district. In the study, It has been used data form prepared by researchers as data collection tool information form prepared by researchers in order to collect data for research, The Hope in Child Scale developed by Snyder et al. (1997) and adapted to Turkish by Atik and Kemer (2009); Depression Inventory for Children (1981) was developed by Kovacs and adapted to Turkish by Öy (1990).; developed by Raja, McGee and Stanton (1992), Günaydın, Selçuk, Sumer (20015) (university); Parent and Peer Attachment Scale was adapted to Turkish by Bayraktar, Sayıl, Kumru (2009) (high school).In data analysis, independent groups t test and simple linear regression analysis have been used. The data has been used with the 17.0 SPSS package program and 05 analyzed level of significance. When the findings obtained from the study have been examined, it has been seen that the students' hopes scores have been significantly predicted in terms of attachment to mothers, attachment to friends and depression, and the hope scores haven’t differed in gender.
