Abstract
INVESTIGATION OF WRITING ANXIETY FOR LEARNERS OF TURKISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE
The aim of this research is to investigate the writing apprehension of international students learning Turkish in Atatürk University Language Acquisition Research and Application Center in terms of linguistic levels and families. During the research of the scanning model, the data is collected from 75 international students. In this study, “Writing Apprehension Scale in Turkish as a Foreign Language” that was developed by Aytan and Tuncel (2015) has been used. Standard deviation, arithmetic mean, ANOVA and LSD tests have been utilized during the data analysis.
As a result of the research, it is determined that there is a significant difference between linguistic levels and families in terms of writing apprehension. Writing apprehension decreases in an inversely proportional pattern as the linguistic level increases. When the language families are examined, it is shown that the writing apprehension of students in the Uralic-Altaic language group positively differed from that of the students in the Indo-European, Bantu, and Semitic languages.
