Abstract

TRANSLATION AND LEGALIZATION OF SELF-REGULATION TESTING FOR CHILDREN AND ITS ADAPTATION TO THE ALGERIAN SOCIETY
This study aimed to translate the cognitive self-regulation testing for children, as well as to legalize it and adapt it to the Algerian society. This testing model is derived from the study conducted by M. Ellen Markman (1979) and HELENE POISSANT (2007). This kind of testing is a tool that allows measuring one of the metacognitive abilities, i.e. the cognitive self-regulation, through literacy positions to discover the contradictions in the text. In order to carry out this study, it was necessary to choose the appropriate sample to check our testing model and to identify its psychometric indicators. For this, a purposive sample of 45 children was chosen from some primary schools in Tlemcen and also from the University Hospital of Tlemcen. The results obtained at the end indicated that it is possible to rely on this testing model as a tool to study the cognitive self-regulation with a high degree of confidence; its results can be trusted during its application.
