Abstract

INVESTIGATION OF TEACHERS’ SELF-EFFICACY, PERCEPTIONS OF DIVERSITY AND SOCIAL JUSTICE, AND MULTIDIMENSIONAL LEADERSHIP ORIENTATIONS
The aim of this study is to investigate whether there is a significant difference between teacher self-efficacy perceptions, multidirectional leadership orientations, and diversity and social justice perceptions of teachers working as preschool, primary school, secondary school and high school teachers in public and private schools belonging to the Ministry of National Education based on gender and seniority variables. Two hundred and eighty-two (282) teachers working as preschool, primary school, secondary school and high school teachers in public and private schools belonging to the Ministry of National Education in the 2019-2020 academic year participated in the study. “Teacher Self-Efficacy Scale”, “Multidirectional Leadership Orientations Scale” and “Diversity and Social Justice Scale” were used as data collection tools in the study. Descriptive statistics, independent t-test and ANOVA test were employed to calculate the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, maximum and minimum values in the analysis of the data obtained. As a result of the research, a significant difference was found between the “People-Oriented Leadership” and “Structural Leadership” sub-dimensions of the Multi-directional Leadership Scale based on the gender variable. Significant difference was found in the teacher self-efficacy scale as a whole based on the gender variable. A significant difference was observed in the “Social Services and Recipient Harmony in Diversity” sub-dimension of Diversity and Social Justice Scale based on the gender variable. A significant difference was found between the seniorities of the teachers participating in the study and the “Social Services Delivery” sub-dimension of the Multidirectional Leadership Orientations Scale. A significant difference was found between the seniorities of the teachers participating in the study and the teacher self-efficacy scale as a whole. A significant difference was found between the seniorities of teachers taking part in the study and the “Social Services Delivery in Diversity” sub-dimension of the Diversity and Social Justice Scale.
