Abstract


A Research on the Comprehension and Use of Speech Acts of the Students of the Department of Turcology of the University of Zenica
Teaching Turkish as a foreign language (YDOTÖ) researches focus on course and course contents, course materials and student competencies. However, it is observed that the language teaching and communicative competences of the students studying in Turkish Language and Literature Departments are not emphasized enough. In this study, the students of the C1 level (3rd year) students of Zenica University Department of Turcology have been emphasized their ability to understand, use and interpret their words. In this study, in order to measure the skills of understanding and using pragmatics in context, 20 in-context verbal use questions were asked and five open-ended questions were asked to the participants in order to identify problems related to the environment of education, physical and social conditions. The aim of the course is to contribute to the problems faced by language and literary students through the views of Turkish users of foreign languages. Survey data were analyzed by SPSS program and the data were evaluated according to percentages; Findings collected by interview method were grouped and interpreted by thematic and frequency classification technique.
