Abstract


COMPARISON OF THE BAŞODA AND BRIDE’S ROOM IN ANATOLIAN HOUSING
Anatolian housing, which is one of the most important reflections of our cultural accumulation, has existed with the influence of traditional family structure together with tent culture. The room, which is one of the most important determinants of Anatolian housing, is shaped in line with the needs of the family and each room is arranged in such a way that it can meet the needs of a family. One of the most elaborate rooms of the house organized to provide privacy and to host guests in anatolian housing is the başoda and while the other one is the bride's rooms, which serve as a dowry and organized for the married child. The fact that the concept of a bridal room, which has preserved its existence from the past to the present but has not found enough space in the researches, is confused with the başoda, causes the loss of our cultural existence. In this study, it is aimed to investigate the formations of the bride's room and the başoda in Anatolian housing. Accordingly, the concept of rooms in Anatolian residence was defined, the architectural and decorative features of the bridal rooms and the başoda were emphasized from the featured rooms in the residence, and the comparison of these two rooms was made. It is aimed to embody the subject with examples of high-quality housing in Anatolia, the başoda and bridal room samples.
