Abstract


APPLICATIONS OF TEACHING WITH THE GAME IN TEACHING OF HISTORY SUBJECTS (AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY)
In this research, it is aimed to reveal the effect of the method of teaching with the game on the achievement and permanence of the students. It is tested in the unit of ''Culture and Heritage'' in the elementary school of 5th grade. The study group 5th grades students who are attending Şehit Mustafa Güvenç Aldemir Secondary School in Gömeç district of Balıkesir province in the 2018- 2019 academic year. In the research, the groups were determined by lot which are 5 / A and 5 / B classes experimental group, 5 / C and 5 / D classes as the control groups. In the teaching process of the research, the subjects of the experimental groups were taught with the activities in the curriculum prepared by the Ministry of Education and educational games adapted by the researcher to the subjects. In the control group, the subjects were taught according to classical teaching method in the curriculum. In this study, experimental method was used to measure the effect of the method of teaching with the game on the achievement and permanence. As an experimental model ''The model of Pre-test, Final Test Control group Model'' was used. It is used the form of survey as data collection tool which is prepared by the researcher. The first, it was implemented the pre test to all groups, After 30 days, the application of Pretest test, the permanence test was applied to all groups. Obtained data were analyzed by using SPSS 21 program and the differences between dependent and independent groups were analyzed by t test. According to the obtained data there is a meaningful differerences on behalf of experimental group. It is understood that this method is been effected learning, achievement and permanence of learning. On the other hand it has been effected attending to the lessons and increased interest to the lesson.
