Abstract
THE HIJRI 5TH CENTURY HANAFI-MÂTURÎDİ SCHOLAR OF SAFFÂR EL-BUKHÂRY AND HIS DENOTATION OF ISLAMIC SECTS
In this article, firstly, information about the life, scientific personality and works of Saffar al-Bukhari is given. Following this, the topic of denotation of the sects, one of the important problems of the history of the Islamic sects, has been discussed. In this context, names given by Saffâr to İtikaadî Islamic sects was examined according to the titles determined by scientific methods. The evaluation sand analyses made it clear that Saffar of ten select names according to the people, then preferring names based on opinions. It is hoped that this humble work will contribute to the field of naming.
